While cash is the most common way of making a donation, it is also possible to make non-cash donations to Amazon Relief. Non-cash donations include:

Credit Card Payments

Donations can be made on your Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover card. To do this, you can call (616) 453-9104 or write us with the following information: your name and address, the amount of your donation, the type of credit card you want to use (Visa, Mastercard, etc.), the credit card number, and the credit card expiration date.

Securities and Real Estate

You can donate stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and real estate to Amazon Relief. These types of donations may have certain tax benefits for a donor. Normally when you sell appreciated stocks, bonds, mutual funds, or real estate, a capital gains tax is due. However, you may be able to avoid this tax and obtain a tax deduction for the full value of the property by donating it to Amazon Relief.

Life Insurance

When you name Amazon Relief as owner and beneficiary of a life insurance policy you may be able to receive a tax deduction for the value of the policy. Alternately, you can name Amazon Relief as a secondary beneficiary for a life insurance policy. For example, you may wish to provide for a surviving spouse. However, if your spouse predeceases you, then Amazon Relief would receive the proceeds.
